Co-option: Make a difference by becoming a Councillor

May 12th 2023

The Parish Council currently has two (2) councillor vacancies which will be filled by co-option. Co-option is the process by which the Parish Council selects a new Councillor when an election hasn’t been requested.

The co-option process will start today, Friday 12th May 2023 and anyone wishing to apply has 14 days to return their application (Deadline: Friday 26th May 2023).

The co-option process details can be found HERE whilst the eligibility and application forms can be found HERE. Alternatively hard copies can be obtained by contacting the parish council office. Please note that BOTH forms need to be completed and signed before they are returned.

If you would like to know more about becoming a Councillor, you can contact the Clerk or attend the Planning & Licencing committee meeting being held on Wednesday 17th May 2023. Alternatively, the National Association of Local Councils has plenty of information on their website

Any queries can be directed to the parish council office on 01726 823003 or clerk@ststepheninbrannel-pc.gov.uk
