Future Use of the Former Sunday School also known as the Church Rooms in Nanpean

October 04th 2018

A decision has been made on the future use of the former Sunday School also known as the Church Rooms in Nanpean.

Members of St Stephen in Brannel Parish Council agreed that the majority of the building will be leased to a local business man, Gary Batten, to run a convenience store that incorporates a post office.

The remaining parts of the building will remain under the control of the Parish Council. A section to the front left will be used as cemetery staff work accommodation; a section to the rear right will be used as a general public community lounge; and a section to the front right will be used as a part time parish council office.

Utilities will be connected to the building during October/November 2018 allowing internal renovation works to begin.

Planning permission for the works to upgrade the outside space into a free short stay public car park has now been received, Subject to funding and the weather, it is anticipated that these works will take place in February 2019.

It is expected that the convenience store will open at the end of April 2019.
